ANNUAL FLOWER PLANTINGS

WINTER RYE-GRASS OVERSEEDING

Warm season grasses like Bermuda go dormant and turn a blondish straw-like color when soil temperatures fall below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. In order to maintain the vibrancy of your lawn, we will overseed your lawn with a cool season Ryegrass. At PWE we exclusively use perennial Ryegrass over annual Ryegrass because its blade is darker green, hardier, finer and easier to mow.

REJUVENATION PRUNING

Frost-damaged plants, such as Lantana and Red Birds of Paradise, can be rejuvenated by pruning down close to the ground after the danger of frost has passed.

The method is to cut all stems about 12 – 18 inches above the ground. This is often referred to as ‘cutbacks’ or ‘restoration pruning’, and is usually completed during the shrub’s dormancy or after the blooming season ends.
